So what is the difference between the two? The cottage is just over 300 square feet and is a studio style with a private full bath. The outdoor amenities include a hammock, fire pit, and a deck overlooking the Smoky Mountains; all in a level yard that adjoins the owner's residence. The cottage has line of sight with the owner's residence.

 

The cabin is nearly 800 square feet with a separate bedroom, full bath, and large great room with a wall of windows. One open deck and one covered deck each overlook a westerly sunset view of the Smokies. This home is built on a slope, so the outdoor amenities such as propane fire bowl, rocking chairs, and patio furniture are self-contained within the two decks. There is no direct access to a level yard, yet plenty of privacy and quiet. There is no line of sight with the owner's residence, although it is located nearby for easy access to information or assistance.
